It’s important to pack all of your belongings carefully and safely. The better they are packed, the less chance there is of any breakages or problems during the move, especially in transit. At American Way and Van, we’ve put together 5 tips on packing your appliances.
Wrap your Appliances
First and foremost, use bubble wrap to cover the plug and the body of your appliance. This will protect the item during the move and prevent any damage to the electrical or motor elements.
Use Original Packaging When Possible
If you still have the original packaging for your appliances, use it. Not only will it make it easier to identify your appliances when unpacking, but the original boxes were created to house the appliance, so are safer.
Box Them Up
If you no longer have the original packaging, you must box your appliances. You can either box them in smaller boxes individually, or pack together in a large box and separate with newspaper or bubble wrap. Mark these boxes as fragile to avoid them being handled roughly.
Pack Instructions with Items
If you have the original instructions and/or warranty for any of the appliances, pack these alongside the corresponding item. It’s always handy to have this information, and you never know when you might need it, so it’s best to keep a hold of it.
