  1. When is the best time to move?
If you can plan your move far enough in advance, we’d suggest looking at late fall or even winter as good moving times. That’s because many people move around the school year. So summer is a very busy time to approach a moving company about relocating in Dayton. But the truth of the matter is, the best time to move is when it’s best for you and your family. If you’re looking at renting or weather, there may be specials or heat to consider. Give us a call, and we’ll help you put together a plan that works for you.
  2. What should I do about my pets on move day?
This is a great question. And we’ve heard horror stories about pets getting away in the transition or even seen new stories about pets getting accidentally packed into boxes. That’s not an experience we’d like for your family to have. Have a plan. We have some clients that have they pets in a back bedroom, so they are out front under foot. If you have a friend of family member who would keep your pets for a couple of days or maybe even boarding them during the move would be a good idea. We know pets are important family members so make sure you have a plan in place before our movers arrive.
  3. How do I prepare my home for the movers?
This is personal to your needs and preferences, but we’ll be happy to share some general tips we’ve picked up over the years. If there are things you’re planning to move yourself, have those in your vehicle or clearly set aside before movers arrive. If you have a lot of boxes, order them by room and stack them, so they’re easy to load onto a dolly and walk out the door. If you have specialty items or items that may be awkward to move, mention them ahead of time and feel free to secure doors on furniture exposure fixtures on antiques with bubble wrap or even a quilt or sheet to protect their surfaces. But don’t sweat, these are just some ideas. We’re pros, and we’ll make you move a success regardless of how organized or unorganized you are when we arrive.
